While visiting the Seattle Southside, we stayed at the Coast Gateway Hotel. The hotel is so close to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport that you could almost reach out and touch it. If seeing planes take off and land while you are relaxing in your hotel room doesn’t spark your Wanderlust, not much else will!
The Coast Gateway Hotel offers a number of practical amenities such as free overnight parking, complimentary continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a flight check-in system with departures and arrivals board in the lobby. Other great amenities for travelers include a 24-hour Sea-Tac airport shuttle, a business center, fitness facility, and complimentary guest laundry service.
Our room at the Coast Gateway Hotel was spacious and inviting, and offered a microwave, mini-fridge, personal coffee maker, ironing board, and flat screen television. But the best part about the room was the view from the room. We were able to lay in bed, munching on the goodies provided in our generous welcome basket, and watch the hustle and bustle of Terminal A at Sea-Tac Airport. Watching planes taking off, landing, and taxiing around the airport felt like a special behind the scenes tour. Initially, I was concerned that once it was time to go to bed that the novelty of being next door neighbors with the airport would wear off, but surprisingly once I closed my eyes for the evening I didn’t hear any of the adjacent airport traffic.
The following morning we got dressed to begin exploring the Seattle Southside, and we stopped into the hospitality lounge for breakfast. There was an array of choices, including one of my absolute favorites, blueberry waffles fresh from the do-it-yourself waffle station! But if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your room, the Coast Gateway Hotel also offers Room Service from Sharp’s Roaster & Ale House restaurant located conveniently in the parking lot of the hotel.
